Expert Kitchen Extract Cleaning in London TR19® Grease Certified

As the heart of the UK’s culinary scene, London presents a unique set of challenges for commercial kitchen maintenance. From the high-end fine dining establishments of Mayfair and Knightsbridge to the bustling tourist-filled cafes of Covent Garden and Soho, fire safety is a critical priority.

Our team provides specialised kitchen extraction system cleaning across all 33 districts, ensuring that hotels in The City and trendy eateries in Shoreditch remain fully compliant with TR19® Grease standards. In a city where space is at a premium and many kitchens operate 24 hours a day, grease buildup in ductwork can escalate quickly, posing a significant fire risk to both historic Grade II listed buildings and modern skyscrapers in Canary Wharf.

Whether you manage a boutique hotel near Westminster or a fast-paced takeaway in Camden, our London-based technicians offer the certified deep cleaning and Post-Clean Verification Reports required to keep your business safe, insured, and ready for inspection.

* TR19® Grease Compliance: We ensure every clean meets the strict BESA standards recognised by London insurers and the London Fire Brigade.

* Borough-Wide Coverage: Rapid response teams available for emergency and scheduled cleans from Chelsea and Kensington to Greenwich and Hackney.

* Specialist Sector Experience: Tailored cleaning for luxury hotel chains, Michelin-starred restaurants, and high-volume commercial catering units.

* Insurance-Ready Documentation: Every London project includes a full digital report with photographic evidence and a Certificate of Cleanliness.

* Flexible Scheduling: We operate 24/7 to minimise disruption, offering overnight or early morning slots for London’s busy hospitality sector.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often does the London Fire Brigade recommend cleaning my ducts?
While the London Fire Brigade emphasises that frequency depends on cooking volume, the TR19® Grease standard dictates that heavy-use kitchens (12–16 hours/day) require cleaning every 3 months, moderate-use every 6 months, and light-use at least annually to maintain valid insurance cover.

Does my London business need a TR19® Grease certificate?
Yes. In a high-density city like London, commercial insurers and Environmental Health Officers (EHO) almost universally require a TR19® Grease certificate as proof that grease levels are below the 50-micron threshold across the entire system.

Will the cleaning disrupt my restaurant's service hours?
No. To avoid disruption in areas like Soho or the West End, we offer 24/7 scheduling, including overnight shifts, ensuring your kitchen is compliant and ready before your first service begins.

Do you provide services for Grade II listed buildings in Central London?
Absolutely. Our technicians are experienced in working with the complex, non-standard ductwork layouts often found in heritage properties in Westminster and The City, ensuring thorough grease removal without compromising building integrity.

The Boring Bit

Grease Duct TR19 Certificate

Cook with fryers? - if yes, then you need a certificate.
Cooking on Gas? - if yes, then you need a certificate.

Certification under TR19 demonstrates a commitment to fire safety and ventilation efficiency. It involves thorough assessments of grease buildup and adherence to cleaning and maintenance protocols for optimal performance.

The certificate should always be accompanied by pre/post clean images and a system condition report.

Q.How Often do I need to get this done?
A. It depends on how many hours a day your kitchen is in operation - check out the table below.

What the FAQ?

Can I clean the extraction system myself, I think I can reach?

Answer. If you can safely reach the system and the extractor fan has been isolated from the electricity - then yes you can clean the system yourself. We always encourage our clients to undertake regular cleaning of the canopy and canopy filters as these areas should form part of your regular kitchen cleaning schedule. However, your insurance company will stipulate that the whole system needs to be cleaned and certified by an experienced cleaning contractor.

How often do I need to get this cleaned?

Answer. It depends on how many hours per day your kitchen is in operation as an average over a typical week. You can find a Handy table above or you can reach out to us for further advice.

Do I need to close the kitchen for the clean?

Answer. The kitchen needs to remain closed during the clean. However we operate 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, so we can undertake the clean whilst your business is closed.

How do I get a quote?

Answer. We can usually quote 99% of jobs without the need for a site visit. All we need from you is a couple of images of the system and we can get you a quote and availability over to you within minutes. You can contact us on WhatsApp, by email, text or call.

How much will the clean cost?

Answer. The cost of the clean will vary depending on the size of the system and how often the system has been cleaned in recent years. However, we have multiple cleaning options available at different price points.
